Your Steam account got hijacked? No worries, here is the procedure on how to get it back.
First, you will need to contact the Steam support. In order to do this, you have a whole interface to choose your exact problem.
You will have to open a new ticket, in which you have to specify the following informations:
- Your Steam username (the one you type with your password to connect)
- The mail address linked to your Steam account
- Your full name (if specified)
Steam will also ask you some other informations so give them as much as you can, like those:
- If you bought games in physical retailers, send scans of your cd-keys
- If you bought games using the Steam store, send them the informations of the credit card used (Mastercard, VISA, American Express...), the expiration date and the last 4 digits of the card
- If you used PayPal instead of a credit card, send them the full name of the PayPal account's owner and the PayerID.
The vast majority of the Steam accounts are hijacked thanks to a weak password on your mail address. We strongly advise you to use a strong and unique password for your mail address and your Steam account.
